The Regional Development Company (RDC) has named Centier “Bank of the Year” for Small Business Lending. The Regional Development Company is a certified development company which specializes in the 504 SBA Loan program, primarily in Northwest Indiana. Locally, the Regional Development Company administers the SBA 504 loan program and works with banks to identify potential SBA 504 borrowers. Centier has received this honor six out of the last seven years. In 2009, Centier produced $2,741,000 in small business loan debentures.
“Centier continues to be a strong resource of capital for our local communities,” stated Darrell Jaggers, senior partner and manager of lending functions at Centier. “We are honored that local businesses trust in Centier to provide lending options when they need it most.”
As the area’s leading bank in commercial real estate lending, Centier offers the 504 SBA Loan program as an instrument to help local communities grow and develop economically. The program provides small companies with long-term fixed-rate financing for expansion, modernization, and for land and large equipment purchases. In addition, job creation is a defining part of the SBA 504 loan program. RDC funded projects must create one job per $50,000 in SBA loan dollars.
“Our partnership with the RDC is important to the future of our local economy,” Jaggers said. “We’re not only helping businesses rebound from a tough economic year, we’re supporting projects that foster job creation and retention, which is critical to our communities.”
