1.22.2010 - Gill Honored with 2009 Legacy of Service Award

Curt Gill, Centier Vice President of Business Banking, was recently honored with the 2009 Distinguished Community Leader Award by the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber hosted its annual “A Salute to Leadership” dinner on January 16, 2010, honoring distinguished citizens of Valparaiso.

The award is given to individuals who demonstrate a leadership role, are successful in promoting and developing business and industry, are involved and contribute to the community, have a general reputation among the community as business leaders, and enhance the quality of life in their community on a sustained basis.

One of Centier’s most seasoned business bankers, Gill has nearly 40 years of banking experience. In his 29 years as a commercial banker with Centier, Gill has helped establish some of the most recognized businesses in Northern Indiana.

A resident of Valparaiso for over 30 years, Gill has served his community in numerous volunteer leadership positions, including the Valparaiso Economic Development Commission, Valparaiso Economic Development Corporation, American Cancer Society, and Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce.

The Valparaiso Chamber Board of Directors created the Legacy of Service Award in 2004 to give special recognition to individuals in the community who have, over the course of time or in an extraordinary circumstance, given service to the community beyond what is expected in their profession.
