The Regional Development Company (RDC) recently hosted its annual meeting and awards program to recognize leading business lenders in the community. Jack Esala and Paul Thiel, vice presidents of business banking at Centier, were named “Lender of the Year.”
Jack Esala was named top performing lender of the year, with $1,285,000.00 in small business loan debentures for the year. Esala was also has honored as a member of the RDC’s Millionaires Club for debentures greater than $1 million dollars.
In his more than 30 years as a banker with Centier, Esala has helped establish some of the most recognized businesses in the Northern Indiana area. He is a longtime member and past president of the Crown Point Rotary, past board member of the Crown Point Community Foundation, and volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
Paul Thiel was named top producing lender of the year, with $3,802,000.00 in small business loan debentures for the year. Thiel was also honored as a member of the RDC’s Millionaires Club. Thiel has been a business banker with Centier since 2001. A graduate of Marian University, he is very active in the Crown Point Chamber of Commerce and Crown Point Youth Baseball.
The Regional Development Company is a certified development company that specializes in the 504 SBA Loan program, primarily in Northwest Indiana. Locally, the Regional Development Company administers the SBA 504 loan program and works with banks to identify potential SBA 504 borrowers.
