The Centier Bank – Schrage Family Foundation Scholarship was established in 1995 in recognition of Centier Bank’s Centennial Anniversary and its founder, Henry Schrage. The program reaffirms Centier Bank’s commitment to the families and communities it serves.
The scholarship is awarded to local high school students planning to attend college. The program rewards academic achievement, as well as strong school and community leadership. The $2,000 scholarship award is distributed in $500 payments, every August, for four consecutive years, providing that the student achieves a GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) each semester. Special consideration may be made for students who take part in internship programs.
An application can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. Applications are also available in high school guidance departments in the communities Centier Bank serves. Applications must be submitted to the guidance department by April 1, 2010. Since one scholarship is offered per community, each public high school will have the opportunity to provide up to three (3) applications for consideration. The Centier Bank-Schrage Family Foundation Scholarship Committee will then select one winner from all the applications provided.
Applications for the “At-Large” Scholarship are available to high school seniors at parochial schools (Bishop Noll, Andrean, Hammond Baptist) in the communities Centier serves, as well as public high schools in Lake and Porter County, may submit an application directly to the scholarship committee at Centier Bank, in care of Vicki Bukowski vbukowsk@centier.com, or Centier’s Education Department/Learning Center.
