Centier Bank Breaks Ground for a New Granger Location
September 22, 2016
GRANGER, IN - Michael E. Schrage, Chairman and CEO of Centier Bank, and Steve Watts, Community Bank President, welcomed community leaders for a commemorative groundbreaking ceremony for Centier’s new retail branch, located in Granger. The new location, just north of Gumwood and Cleveland Roads, will be one of three locations now serving the Greater Michiana region. Mishawaka City Controller, Becky Miller, and St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, Jeff Rea, joined Centier bankers on Thursday, September 22, 2016, to formally welcome Centier Bank to the Granger community. Centier opened its first Mishawaka location, a commercial loan production office, in 2006. Since then, the community bank has grown its team to more than double and expanded community services to include mortgages and personal banking. In September 2014, Centier opened a full-service community banking center on E. Day Road. Just a month later, Centier opened an Elkhart branch. The 1,200 square foot retail branch will host personal banking services, drive-thru amenities, and an EZ Deposit ATM (which accepts check and cash deposits 24/7). Centier Bank is a $3.4 billion bank, and is proud to preserve a unique legacy as Indiana’s largest, private, family-owned bank. With 54 offices across the state, Centier Bank promises to preserve community banking for generations to come. Founded in 1895 in Whiting, Indiana, Centier Bank is the largest privately-owned independent bank in Indiana and remains committed to being owned and operated by the Schrage family for generations to come. The Bank has been named “Best Bank for Business” for the past 14 years by the Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly publication and was listed on the Indiana Chamber’s “Best Places to Work” list for the past 10 years.
