Centier Bank Breaks $4 Billion Milestone, Celebrates Early Success in 2018
May 25, 2018
MERRILLVILLE – Centier Bank is celebrating a successful start to 2018 with continued success that has seen the community bank break the $4 billion asset milestone. Centier’s Mortgage Department also continues to be a preferred mortgage lender in the state, with over $32 million in closed loans in the month of April alone, with 10 loan officers each exceeding $1 million in closed loans.
Centier’s recent financial successes have been buoyed by awards and accolades, including maintaining its Hall of Fame status after being named among the Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber for the 12th consecutive year. This distinction follows Best Place to Work, Best Bank, and Best in Customer Service recognition from readers of The Times of Northwest Indiana, Post-Tribune, and Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly.
“Centier is off to a tremendous start in 2018 and I am proud to see the success we continue to build upon year after year,” said Mike Schrage, President and CEO of Centier Bank. “We are getting stronger, and as a result, the communities we are serving are getting stronger. I look forward to continuing this growth as we prosper as Indiana’s largest private family-owned bank.”
Centier also rolled out a series of technological advances in the first quarter of 2018. The Technical Solutions Department moved into its $1 million expansion at the Centier Corporate Centre and hit the ground running. The bank launched Money Management, a personal finance software, to all of its clients through online and mobile banking, along with new, streamlined application processes for mortgage applications and a centralized online tool for consumer construction projects. They also released a QuickBooks integration for personal and small business clients, an internal social network, and are also rolling out a free Wi-Fi program in 30 of Centier’s branches.
Volunteerism continues to be at the core of Centier’s values, and it was demonstrated as such when the bank unveiled a new internal volunteer portal, which provides information and opportunities to learn more and volunteer with nonprofits in each of the communities the bank serves. Through its Heart of the Community campaign, Centier is showcasing the true community banking philosophy through associate-led Random Acts of Kindness in each market.
The bank is also looking at additional opportunities for expansion in 2018. Centier recently broke ground in Elkhart on its 61st location in the state of Indiana. The bank will also celebrate a grand opening for its Fishers Crossing branch in July, followed by a Michigan City branch opening in early 2019.
