November 6, 2017
Centier Bank and Mental Health America of Lake County (MHALC) began their financial literacy partnership when Mary Shelton, Centier AVP and Munster Branch Manager, presented Pay Yourself First to MHALC personnel during a Lunch and Learn at their Hammond location.
Program supervisor and wellness committee member, Dayanara Annen, stated, “The Wellness Committee at MHALC is committed to helping staff be healthy overall; this includes being financially healthy. We were very fortunate to have Centier Bank provide their educational presentation.”
The presentation explained that saving money is an important part of building a financial future and gave tips on how to get started saving. It also gave some important information about saving and investment products.
MHALC CEO, Renae Vania Tomczak, said, “It’s important for people to know how the choices they make today will affect their future. We’re excited about this partnership that will provide a foundation for making good financial decisions and empower individuals to take control of their financial future.”
Plans are in the process for securing additional presentations to MHALC personnel and their clientele, which primarily consists of families with children ages 0-5.
