February 11, 2022

South Bend, Ind. – On a chilly winter day, inside the warm lobby of Centier Bank located in South Bend’s industrial park, a small group gathered to cut the ribbon and officially celebrate the opening of the bank’s newest branch.

Mike Schrage, CEO and Chairman, was joined by James Mueller, Mayor of South Bend; Rob DeCleene, Executive Vice President of the South Bend Chamber of Commerce; and Councilman Pastor Canneth Lee of the First District. Also in attendance were representatives from Holladay Construction Group as well as several associates from Centier Bank.

“We’re excited to be a bigger part of South Bend and St. Joseph County,” Schrage said. “We’ve had a warm welcoming in the area, and we look forward to a long partnership with the City of South Bend. We’ve been doing this for 127 years, so we’re not going anywhere. Centier Bank will continue to be a loyal partner to the city, and we’re happy to be a part of everything you’re accomplishing—we hope you lean on us so we can work together toward the future.”

Mayor Mueller thanked Schrage, saying Centier Bank is a “familiar face” to the South Bend community, while expressing gratitude.

“We’re grateful for all Centier does to finance projects in our city and help small businesses, as well as help our residents to make sure they have access to banking services,” Mueller said. “We’re excited that you’re expanding your footprint and visibility in our community, we look forward to all the great things in the pipeline that we’re seeing. Thank you for your continued support.”

A 45-year resident of South Bend, Councilman Lee stood up to share a few words about his home city that he loves so much.

“Home ownership is very important, banking is very important, and we need our community to have partners like Centier to help navigate and guide people through their journey of life,” he shared. “We are so excited to have you here, and we want to welcome you to the First District.”

Amber Pulford, Regional Sales Manager at Centier Bank, said Centier is eager to provide more access to banking services at the new branch, conveniently located at 2850 W. Cleveland Rd. She said clients can expect to see the same faces that have served  the area in years past, including branch manager, Kevin Fautz, as well as universal bankers Mishell Graber, Emily Gaffron and Susie Heminger. Centier also has a Mortgage Loan Officer and Small Business Banker available at the location to meet with clients and provide guidance.
