Centier Bank Donates $1,000 to Local Domestic Violence Shelter
January 10, 2020
MICHIGAN CITY, IND. – Centier Bank, headquartered in Merrillville, Ind., presented a $1,000 community donation to Stepping Stone Shelter For Women last month. The Michigan City-based domestic violence shelter provides a range of services to victims across La Porte County.
Mike Bober, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Centier Bank’s La Porte branch, said Centier’s expansion in Michiana in 2019 opened the door to meeting people in the community.
He met a member of the board who explained how challenging it has been to obtain funding to maintain the organization, because demand of its services was increasing. Bober said the donation was part of Centier Bank’s continual community outreach efforts and a demonstration of support for all the work Stepping Stone does.
“Centier Bank is thrilled to support such an important organization in our community,” Bober said. “The services Stepping Stone provides to victims and anyone who utilizes them is an invaluable offering in La Porte County. We look forward to hopefully partnering with Stepping Stone to provide financial education services to victims in order to contribute to their future success.”
