Centier Bank Donates $6,750 to Opportunity Enterprises
September 14, 2020
MERRILLVILLE, Ind. – Centier Bank recently made a community donation to Opportunity Enterprises, a Valparaiso-based social services organization which helps persons with developmental disabilities maximize self-sufficiency and enrich their qualities of life.
Anthony Contrucci, Vice President of Community Relations at Centier Bank, said the annual cumulative $6,750 donation was made to help fund the organization’s Day Programs, which allow men and women with disabilities to attend goal-based educational programs with their peers.
“Opportunity Enterprises is a fantastic organization, and a partnership we are very grateful to have,” Contrucci explained. “This donation will ensure education and personal growth for OE’s clients, and will help them to continue serving over 1,700 individuals with disabilities in Northwest Indiana.”
Kacie Ensign, Chief Development and Communications Officer at Opportunity Enterprises, said that financial support helps the organization touch the lives of their clients, by allowing parents to go to work, caregivers to take a break, and employing over 375 people who contribute to local economy.
“Our partnership with Centier Bank is invaluable,” Ensign said. “Many of the men and women that we serve are learning to live as independently as possible. Having a partner in Centier Bank means that we can rely on their local, knowledgeable, and friendly support to help our clients gain and learn their financial independence. At OE, the support from our community is critical to allow those we serve to succeed.”
Opportunity Enterprises supports clients--who might not otherwise have an organization to lean on--to get help with housing, education, and job skills training. In 2019, OE served over 800 high schoolers with disabilities, helping them prepare for life after graduation.
