December 28, 2021
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. —The Indiana District Office of the Small Business Administration recently recognized Centier Bank as part of its annual lender awards for outstanding efforts in Indiana business lending. Centier received the Silver Award for Community Lending and the Third Party Lender Award from the administration.
The U.S. Small Business Administration approved 1,371 loans for Indiana small businesses in the 7(a) and 504 programs in 2021. Stacey Poynter, director of the SBA Indiana District Office said the loans provided a record of more than three-quarters of a Billion dollars at $759 million directly to entrepreneurs and supported over $910 million that they used to start, grow, and expand their Indiana-based businesses.
“This record lending volume occurred in our core loan programs…in addition to all the COVID relief loans and grants,” Poynter said. “We couldn’t have achieved these record numbers without the hard work and dedication to small business growth from our SBA lending partners. We are grateful for their support and look forward to the continued growth of this collaborative partnership.”
Christopher Campbell, Executive Vice President of Centier Bank, said small businesses are the heart and soul of Indiana, and he looks forward to helping the SBA celebrate more record-setting lending years in the future.
“Owning a business is among the most admirable of American dreams,” Campbell explained. “When businesses put down roots in communities, their contribution to the quality of life for all who live and there is truly invaluable. As a true community bank, being devoted to the growth of small businesses is part of the fabric of who we are at Centier Bank.”
