MERRILLVILLE, IND. — Centier Bank, Indiana’s largest private, family-owned and operated bank, is honored to have received the Business of the Year Award from Opportunity Enterprises at their 2026 Celebration of Achievement ceremony on October 22nd. The award underscores Centier’s commitment to supporting Opportunity Enterprises’ mission of creating inclusive and equitable opportunities for people of all abilities.

Centier Bank has been a long-time supporter of Opportunity Enterprises’ work to maximize self-sufficiency and enrich quality of life for all in Northwest Indiana, as well as their disability support services which are second to none. The bank’s Servant-Heart culture aligns seamlessly with Opportunity Enterprises’ mission, and Centier recognizes that investing in every member of our communities, regardless of their abilities, is important.

“We have seen the amazing things stemming from the clients of OE, and we have been proud to do whatever we can to help be a part of creating opportunities for everyone,” notes Chris Campbell, President of Centier Bank. “We are so lucky to have this organization here in our community, making such a difference every day.”

Centier’s dedication to Opportunity Enterprises’ continues to grow year after year. Over the past 10 years, Centier has contributed over $163,000 in monetary donations to support Opportunity Enterprises – with $50,000 of those funds dedicated to the Respite Facility – a safe and fun place for those with disabilities to experience a sense of community, independence and a chance to interact with their peers – while allowing their caregivers a chance to schedule time for themselves.

Centier’s commitment of Opportunity Enterprises extends beyond writing a check. Centier associates have rallied behind the mission of the organization and volunteered nearly 400 hours of their time to support OE over the past decade. Centier also takes pride in the fact that it sells OE’s delicious Do Goodies to its associates every day in the café at its Corporate Headquarters in Merrillville. Centier Bank also utilizes OE’s convenient Secure Shred services for its business.

“My family and I live here in Valparaiso, and I have personally seen first-hand how the work of OE has enriched the lives of those within our community,” said Campbell. “All it takes is one interaction with the people of OE to understand that there is something really powerful happening, and Centier is just thrilled to be a part of that in any way we can.”

Chris Campbell was on hand to accept this award at the Celebration of Achievement event, along with several other members of Centier Bank.
