Last Updated on Jun 6, 2025

MERILLVILLE, IND. — Centier Bank, Indiana’s largest private, family-owned bank, is proud to promote Michelle Maravilla to Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer. Throughout her nearly 20-year tenure with Centier, Maravilla has made a tangible impact on the bank’s culture, organizational success, and growth.

With Maravilla’s promotion, she continues to serve as a strategic business partner focused on Centier’s overall people strategies, encompassing more than 1,000 employees in Indiana. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Maravilla’s role now encompasses the entire HR function, from compensation and benefits to employment and succession planning and overall organizational development, ultimately driving the bank’s overall performance and engagement.

“I love my role at Centier. I feel like I am making a genuine impact on our servant heart culture as we ensure we are caring for our associates across the entire employment journey, from hiring to retiring,” said Maravilla. “I am passionate about talent acquisition, organizational design, compensation, and performance management, and I am honored that I can use these passions to help directly build the future of Centier.”

Maravilla started with Centier in 2006 as a temporary associate to help train new hires. Her expertise and talent led to a full-time position in Learning & Development before she joined the Recruitment team in 2013. She was promoted to Human Resources Manager in 2019, with the Senior Vice President of Human Resources role quickly following in 2021.

“Michelle directly helps shape and execute HR strategies that drive organizational success and growth for Centier,” said Chrisanne Christ, Senior Partner. “Her contributions have come at a critical time for Centier as we continue to grow in new markets across the state and add new employees to our team at every level.”

In addition to her Chief HR Officer role, Maravilla has led Centier’s Diversity Advisory Council for the past five years and is a member of SHRM, the Society of Human Resources Management, and other professional organizations. She contributes her time to various non-profit organizations within her hometown of Crown Point, Indiana, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.

Maravilla’s promotion comes at a time when Centier is being widely recognized as an excellent workplace. This year, Centier ranked #5 on the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Best Places To Work list, continuing a 19-year streak on the renowned list determined by employee feedback. Employee feedback also helped Centier be named the Best Bank to Work For in Indiana by American Banker, in addition to its #11 rank nationally and #2 across banks with assets between $3-$10 billion in the program.
