CENTIER BANK RANKED ONE OF INDIANA'S BEST WORKPLACES FOR 2025
MERRILLVILLE, IND. — Centier Bank, Indiana’s largest private, family-owned and operated bank, is proud to announce its #5 ranking on the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Best Places To Work list. This year’s recognition continues the bank’s 19-year streak on the renowned list determined by employee feedback.
On April 30, the Indiana Chamber’s 20th annual awards program honored 150 Indiana companies across 20 industries and five size categories, representing the largest group of companies ever ranked. Centier ranked #5 in the Major Companies category, which includes Indiana’s largest employers with 1,000 or more employees. The list and rankings were determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys conducted by The Workforce Research Group.
“Centier Bank’s unwavering commitment to our Hoosier customers and employees has proudly propelled us to serve as Indiana’s largest community bank,” said Michael E. Schrage, Centier Bank’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. “Our continued success in this program is both humbling and meaningful because results hinge on feedback from our valued associates who welcome, encourage, and enrich our clients’ financial journeys daily.”
This accolade follows Centier Bank’s recent, inaugural distinction as Best Retail Bank for Customer Satisfaction in the North Central Region in the 2025 J.D. Power U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study. The bank has also received recognition from Forbes as one of Indiana’s top-rated banks for seven consecutive years, ranking first in the state most recently for 2024. These achievements hold significant meaning because they are earned only through direct customer feedback. Similarly, employee feedback helped Centier be named the Best Bank to Work For in Indiana by American Banker, in addition to its #11 rank nationally and #2 across banks with assets between $3-$10 billion in the program.
“We are so grateful that our people recognize the value we place on them,” said Chrisanne Christ, Centier Bank’s Senior Partner and head of Human Resources Development. “As a family-owned and operated bank, we invest in our associates to ensure they are growing, supported, and able to show up as their best selves daily.”
