MERRILLVILLE – For each of the past six years, Centier Bank has ranked among American Banker’s list of “Best Banks to Work For” list, and in 2018, Centier has taken the reigns as the top-ranked bank in the state of Indiana.
Centier Bank was ranked 10th nationwide in American Banker’s overall rankings, which also factors in volunteering and charitable contributions in its evaluations. The publication also cited its annual Celebration of Excellence, career development, training, and the bank’s internal social networking tool, Yammer, in its ranking.
“We are once again honored to be recognized by American Banker for the culture we continue to build in our organization,” said Chrisanne Christ, Senior Partner in Human Resource Development at Centier. “Our special culture enables us to attract and retain the finest talent, so our clients have the best in the business taking care of their financial needs. We will continue our focus on providing the best career experience our associates have ever had.”
American Banker creates their list based on extensive employee surveys and reviews employer benefits and policies. This is the sixth year American Banker has conducted its ranking of Best Banks to Work For.
“We take great pride in being an organization that is honored based on the feedback of the people who work here,” said Mike Schrage, President and CEO of Centier Bank. “Our Servant Heart Culture is at the foundation of every interaction we have, whether it is working with other departments or on behalf of the clients we serve.”
Having recently crossed the $4 billion in assets milestone, Centier was the second-largest bank in American Banker’s Top 10. Only two other banks based in Indiana were named in the Top 85, including First Internet Bank (32nd) and Peoples Bank (48th), making Centier’s achievement stand out further. The distinction follows similar workplace accolades from Forbes, Indiana Chamber of Commerce, The Times of Northwest Indiana, and more.
