Centier Bank Opens New Downtown Indianapolis Banking Center
June 26, 2015
Michael E. Schrage, President and CEO of Centier Bank, announced the grand opening of a new Centier Bank branch and commercial loan office, located at 1 N. Pennsylvania Street in Downtown Indianapolis.
The retail building, formerly occupied by First Financial Bank, is Centier’s new full-service banking center, featuring retail and commercial services. The first-floor retail lobby is open to the public Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and commercial loan offices, which are on the 13th floor, are open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Centier Bank entered the Greater Indianapolis region in 2011 with a commercial loan production office in Carmel’s Meridian Mark business complex. In 2014, Centier expanded operations by building a new Carmel business banking center, complete with full-service banking, and personal and commercial lending, located at 568 E. Carmel Drive.
“The Greater Indianapolis business community has been impressed with our services and corporate culture from the start,” stated Schrage. “Our customers appreciate the ease of working with our bank, for our creative, responsive, and reputable banking service, and most of all – that we are Indiana owned and have local decision-making. With our new downtown Indianapolis office, we have a prominent location to create a new group of ‘raving fans’ within the city. We will continue our family legacy of independent community banking for future generations to come, that is my ‘Not For Sale’ promise…my personal commitment that Centier Bank will remain independently owned and operated.”
Centier Bank at Indianapolis Downtown features personal banking services, a walk-up EZ Deposit ATM (which accepts check and cash deposits 24/7), two teller stations, and six commercial lending offices on the penthouse floor of the 14-story building.
“Our Indianapolis team is made of a strong group of local, experienced bankers who live and know this area…they take great strides to keep a pulse on the heartbeat of the city,” stated Schrage. “Our core service team are your neighbors, your friends, and they will continue to support and grow the local economy.”
Centier Bank’s commercial lending team is being led by Mary Jo Kennelly, vice president of business banking. The retail branch manager is Wendy Bullard, assistant manager is Sheila Kneringer and universal banker is Amber Boles.
Centier is a $2.8 billion dollar bank, with banking locations throughout Allen, Elkhart, Hamilton, Lake, La Porte, Marion, Marshall, Porter, St. Joseph, and Tippecanoe Counties. This year, Centier is named among the top “Best Places to Work in Indiana” by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce for the 9th consecutive year and was named “Best Bank for Business” by the Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly magazine for the 13th straight year.
“We are located in the middle of an area with lots of other banks, many of whom have been in Indianapolis for decades,” Schrage stated. “However, I doubt you’ll find a friendlier bank – in your personal or business ventures. Centier’s personality – our corporate culture – is different. The individuals we employ make banking an outstanding experience. The heart of Centier is different than any other bank in town.”
Centier Bank is commemorating the grand opening with a ribbon cutting and community donation to the Indianapolis Parks Foundation and Catch the Stars Foundation.
