Centier Bank Welcomes Donald Rome as Chief Risk Officer

November 30, 2022

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. – Michael E. Schrage, President and CEO of Centier Bank, is pleased to welcome Donald Rome to the bank serving as Chief Risk Officer.

In his role, Rome is responsible for overseeing regulatory risk and relations, enterprise risk, model risk, compliance, business resiliency, and corporate insurance. He joins Centier after spending 16 years working at other financial institutions in executive roles with a focus on risk. He has led the development of programs and teams in several risk areas, including financial, credit, strategic, regulatory, and operational.

Rome has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Montana, and is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School. He is excited to bring his expertise to Centier Bank, especially during a time when security and risk is of utmost importance in the banking industry.

“Operational risk remains elevated in the banking sector, and it’s important to have expert risk management in place to protect clients and prevent the bank from experiencing losses on loans and investments,” Rome explained. “I am committed to Centier’s mission, purpose, and vision so we can continue to serve our clients and communities for many years to come.”

Chris Campbell, Executive Vice President at Centier Bank, said he is excited to welcome Rome to the Centier Bank family.

“Donald’s extensive background and knowledge in the financial risk sector is a demonstration of how committed Centier Bank is to enriching lives,” Campbell said. “His role is only strengthening our enterprise risk team as Centier Bank looks ahead to an even better tomorrow.”

Rome served as a board member of the Risk Management Association, as well as a board member and chair of HeadStart. He has also been a proud youth soccer coach and treasurer at his church.
