Text Scam Targeting Centier Clients
June 25, 2020
Centier Bank is warning clients about a fraudulent text message scam claiming to be from Centier Bank’s Fraud Department. The texts contain a link with a phone number in the text message, appearing to be the bank’s phone number. However, if a user clicks the link, the phone dials a different number.
The bank’s Fraud Department said the phone numbers have been tracked and shown to come from an online phone service.
Centier Bank is urging clients to NEVER click on any links or phone numbers in text messages claiming to be from Centier Bank’s Fraud Department. Centier does not send text messages asking to be contacted, and does not ask for account information in text messages, email, or any other digital means of communication.
If you have received a text message claiming to be from Centier Bank, please report it to Client Service Center at email@example.com. Please do not send account numbers, social security numbers or any other information you would like to keep private to Centier Bank or anyone else via email message.
